Marketing Meeting
Last night's DPOA Marketing meeting produced some thought provoking topics. There was the usual advertising discussion, which publication, format, size of ad, etc. and then the discussion turned to summertime activities and more specifically the "Dancing With The Stars" concept. The idea of a dancing contest apparently has merit, but would such an activity attract visitors to the downtown, would people participate? These and other issues were discussed at length and in the end it was decided that we should do what politicians do...conduct a survey. No one really had any suggestions regarding questions to be asked in the survey, other than would you like to see a dance contest? At least that's a start. Soon we will post a survey on our web site, probably right here on the blog, but before we do we're asking for your input. What questions should we include in the survey, should it be lengthy or short, yes and no answers, or multiple choice?, etc. Let us know what you think. If your ideas and suggestions are rated PG we'll post them. In the meantime we will begin the process of setting up the survey.

Two other question ideas for the survey:
Who would you like to see compete in a Pomona dance competition? (Open-ended response option to start generating contestant ideas)
How much would you be willing to spend on a Dancing with the Pomona Stars ticket? (Response options: $0, $5, $10, $15, $20)
What is DPOA Marketing? Is a group of community leaders?
The DPOA (Downtown Pomona Owners Association) is an organization charged with improving downtown Pomona and creating and maintaining a better environment for businesses via enhanced security (police and private security), maintenance (sidewalk cleaning, trash pickup, grafitti removal, landscape maintenance, etc.) and marketing (promoting the downtown to create awareness of all that it has to offer, via events, advertising, etc.)The marketing committee is comprised of DPOA board members as well as merchants, residents, and property owners of the downtown. The meetings are open to the public and take place on the first Thursday of the month. Check out our website, www.metropomona.com for a complete list of meetings as well as our mission statement. Thanks for asking.
Thank you. I think I will check it out this coming month. I am not a resident of Down Town but I am a resident of Pomona is that ok?
Absolutely..All of our meetings are open to the public.
My son-in-law Daryl Grigsby, the new Director of Public Works for Pomona has told me of your organization and has suggested that I volunteer to help with your Marketing efforts.
I will be moving to Pomona in late April and would like very much to get involved in your activities.
Looking forward to meeting the committee on the first Thursday after I get settled.
