Metro Pomona Vibrant Last Night

There's no other way to describe last night's Arts Walk....Vibrant! Downtown Pomona was bustling with activity. The sidewalks, galleries, restaurants, and clubs were overflowing with visitors. People of all ages came, saw, enjoyed, and were impressed. The art galleries continued to out-do themselves as they always do with exciting images and talent. Last night was the "soft" opening for Aladdin Jr., featuring a Mediterranean menu, belly dancers and hookahs, the place was packed and overflowing to the sidewalks.

The farmers market hosted over 1700 visitors and featured a "pirate band" in full regalia, aaarrr! Ferguson's Gallery celebrated ST. Patrick's Day early , even though Ferguson himself is a Scot. The School of Arts and Enterprise celebrated the opening of its new gallery inside the Downtown Cal Poly Center with students displaying some awesome work.

Several City Commissioners, Council members, and senior city staff toured the downtown, some for the first time, and were amazed and impressed with the Arts Walk venue which has taken on a life of its own, always better than the last one, always outperforming itself.

It is estimated that over 4,000 people came to downtown Pomona last night, one heck of a block party. If you missed it, don't fret, the next Arts Walk will be Saturday, March 28, coupled with the Collector's Street Fair and Metro Night Out. Come to downtown Pomona and we'll show you around.

Glad you enjoyed -- we had fun entertaining! Belly dancers were two groups ("AnJum" and "The Dancing Belly") under one director, NIKA FEYROUZ, who was the dancer balancing three swords. Showcased were two styles of belly dance: cabaret and tribal. These groups perform throughout the Inland Empire. For more info: 909-908-0927 or www.anjum.dancingbelly.com. Drummers assisting were "Village Mandala Drummers" with VERNON LEWIS.
