Tequilla Bar Approved

At last night's Pomona Planning Commission meeting the commission voted unanimously to approve the Conditional Use Permit for a Tequilla bar to be located at 184 W. Third St (The Prog building and former home of Postal Annex).

A power point presentation was made to the commission by Assistant Planner Heidi Fanous and several people spoke in favor of the project. There were no dissenters.

The proprietors of the bar will be Ed & Alejandra Tessier. After listening to the power point presentation and Ed Tessier's comments
this observer is very impressed with the research and committment displayed by the Tessiers. The bar will feature over 200 premium tequilla brands and boasts a dessert menu like nothing ever seen in these parts. Some tequillas will retail for as much as $600 a bottle, but have no fear, there will be cactus squeeze to fit any budget.

Speakers included Dwayne Kaiser, George Cuttress, Terry Dipple, Arturo Jimenez, and Mervyn Seldon. Summarizing the comments; "Bring it on! A wonderful project which is a class act!".

oh wow. I am very much an amateur tequila aficionado. This is very exciting for me to see a tequila bar in my city! I do enjoy tequila tasting and am also a fan of the agave plant that it comes from. My girlfriend and I will definitely be doing some tasting here. I can't wait. We're both not drinkers at all but prefer tequila over wine.

too bad it's a tequilla bar and not a mescal bar...

mescal is back in a big way...once the hooch of the poorest...tequilla's ugly older brother has finally come into his own

it's more complex and artisanally beautiful...

I need to do more lobbying around here!
